Peer pressure is never far away from many Jamaican youth, especially those living in Kingston’s inner-city communities. Christopher Fadary, who grew up in Waterhouse, knows the feeling.
Known as singjay Cappa Flex, he implores young adults to stay the straight-and-narrow path on I’m Anointed, his latest song.
“Is a culture song telling yuh to know the company yuh choose,” he said. “As a youth, mi always know ‘bout di people ‘roun’ mi an’ if dem mean good or bad.”
I’m Anointed is among a clutch of songs the 27-year-old singjay has recorded for the Underground Music Group. His previous songs for the label include Holding On and It’s Your Love.
Influenced by Bounty Killer and Beres Hammond, Cappa Flex has been recording since 2009. He is one of the acts down to perform on ‘Fi Wi Scheme’, a show scheduled for this evening at the Cooreville basketball court in Kingston.
CR3, Garrison G and Zayah are some of the emerging artistes on the event. Lutan Fyah and Potential Kid are special guests.
